Wasteland Racers

You're stranded on a dying planet and it's your task to gather the ingredients for a cure before the planet will be consumed.

This game is a mixture of a twin-stick shooter and a top-down racing game in which you race across the map to gather the ingredients before the corruption takes hold of the planet and return them to the research station.

This game was made as part of the Godot Wild Jam #36 using Godot Engine version 3.3.2.stable

Wildcards used

• Physician, heal thyself
  • Defeated enemies drop "scrap metal" that can be exchanged for a heal
• Competitive spirit
  • Your fastest completion time will be saved and updated

Important

This game does not have a proper loading screen, therefore unexpected behaviour might happen when pressing start while the game is loading.

Also, when playing in browser the soundtrack will error after pressing start while the game is loading.

Controls

Controller must be plugged in when the game starts

• Accelerate
  • Press the W key
  •  Hold down the right shoulder button (R2)

• Brake
  • Press the S key
  • Hold down the left shoulder button (L2)

• Turn
  • Press the A or D key to turn left or right
  • Tilt your left joystick left or right to turn
• Aim
  • The turrets will be aimed at where your mouse is pointing
  • The direction your right stick is being tilted

• Shoot
  • Hold down the left mouse button to shoot
  • Tilt your right joystick in the direction of the target

• Heal
  • Press the E key
  • Press the lower of the right face buttons (DualShock X, XBox A, Nintendo B)
